Have you ever been camping?
“Whispers of the woods, echoes of wonder”

It was my first time camping in the great outdoors. The forest was dense and quiet, broken only by the occasional rustle of leaves or the distant call of an owl. My friends and I had pitched our tents in a clearing surrounded by towering pine trees that swayed gently with the evening wind.
Having a good time around the campfire

After dinner—charred sausages and marshmallows—we sat around the fire, sharing ghost stories and laughing louder than we should have. But when the fire began to die down, the forest seemed to lean in closer, wrapping us in shadows.
That’s when we heard it—a soft whisper. It wasn’t the wind. It was too rhythmic, too… intentional. “Go back…” it said, so faint we almost doubted it. We looked at each other, eyes wide, hearts pounding.

Determined not to be scared off by a trick of the forest, we zipped ourselves into our tents. But sleep didn’t come easily. The whispers returned—faint but clear—and seemed to circle our camp. I held my breath, clutching my flashlight like a sword.
When dawn broke, everything looked normal. Birds chirped, sunlight filtered through the trees, and the forest seemed peaceful again. But etched into the bark of the nearest pine tree were two words, freshly carved: “Go Back.”
Every tent holds a story.
