    AGEING: REALITY WITHOUT A FILTER.

What is the ugly truth of getting old?

When the mirror lies: The Emotional Weight Of Getting Older.

One truth of getting older is becoming clearer and clearer to me. I wish this wasn’t the case, but I can’t deny it.

The way society treats ageing, you can not win, no matter which path you take.

Society despises people who “age poorly” but also despise people who take measures to look youthful, whether it’s skincare or plastic surgery. If you do that you’re fake, vain, plastic, etc.

It’s not like we have a third option. We will all age, even with the best genetics, diets, skincare, plastic surgeons, etc. It’s inescapable unless you die. And yet we collectively make visible ageing such a taboo.

I recently watched the movie “The Substance” with Demi Moore. It’s not for the faint of heart, but I would recommend it for the message it sends about how we perceive ageing. There is a reason why this movie resonated so much: it is a product of our time.

Whatever we do, we will be chastised. You let your grey or white hair show? You look unkempt. You keep dyeing your hair? Pathetic, you can’t accept you’re not 25 anymore.

You dress “younger” than expected for your age? Don’t be ridiculous. You dress how it’s expected from you? How boring, don’t complain if you become invisible.

We can not win society’s approval, but we can win the war in our minds. Whatever we do, WE must be the one content with our looks. Doesn’t matter if that involves doing nothing or spending thousands on treatments. We must be the ones who feel happy when we look in the mirror.

Time ages the body, but it exposes the soul.

  • THE ONE I LONG TO TALK TO.

THE ONE I LONG TO TALK TO.

Who would you like to talk to soon?

            Mom’s love, “The Ultimate Gift,”

I sat in my favourite spot. I was surrounded by familiar comforts. I couldn’t help but think about the people who have shaped my life. My mother, with her unwavering support and guidance, stood out among them. I imagined us sitting together, sipping tea, and sharing stories.

I’d ask her about her childhood, about the struggles she faced and the triumphs she achieved. I’d want to know more about her dreams, her passions, and her values. I’d listen intently as she shared tales of resilience, perseverance, and love.

In turn, I’d share my own stories – the triumphs, the setbacks, and the lessons learned. I’d tell her about my aspirations, my fears, and my dreams. I’d seek her wisdom, her guidance, and her unconditional love.

Our conversation would be a beautiful dance of give-and-take, a celebration of our bond, and the memories we’ve created together. It would be a reminder that family is not just about blood ties but about the love, support, and connection we share.

As I envisioned this conversation, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for my mother and the impact she’s had on my life. I realized that even in the busiest of times, it’s the relationships that truly matter – the ones that bring joy, comfort, and a sense of belonging.

The thought of having this conversation with my mother filled me with warmth and anticipation. I looked forward to the opportunity to reconnect, strengthen our bond, and create new memories that would last a lifetime.

         Heart to Heart with mom❤️

        THE FOOTPRINTS BEYOND TIME.

What is the legacy you want to leave behind?

To be honest, I don’t want to leave any legacy behind. I just want to live my life and leave when it’s destined. Nobody remembers you after a certain point. People may remember you for one, two, or three generations. After that, nobody is concerned with or interested in knowing about you. How many generations of your own do you remember or anybody else unless they become part of history? But it’s you who remember them, they don’t care.

The world is a place to experience life. Do whatever good you can by helping people, because doing so brings peace. When you can be of use to others and make them happy, that’s where true meaning lies. People might argue, “What are you doing for yourself if you’re always doing for others?” But helping others, in a way, makes you feel like you’re doing something meaningful.

In a world where so many people struggle for basic food and water, I might be enjoying pizza. However, that doesn’t make me happy. Luxury and non-essential experiences are fleeting—they don’t last forever. They’re transient and bring joy for only a very short period.

You begin to feel the purpose of life differs from what most people are chasing. This realization comes when you think about your own existence. You ponder the existence of others, whether people or creatures, including animals. Everyone has to leave one day. Does anyone truly have control over their time on this planet? Can anyone stop death?

Each one of us is here for a limited time. But this is also the truth: as long as you’re on this planet, you have to do something. Doing anything sustains your life. In order to do so, you must arrange means for yourself—be it food, shelter, or basic necessities. You work for that. Otherwise, you’re left on your own. It becomes your responsibility to sustain your life and body to experience the world and the things around you.
